DIET FOR HEADACHES

FOOD FOODS ALLOWED FOODS TO AVOID
BEVERAGES: Decaf coffee
Fruit juices
Soda (7-Up & Ginger-Ale)
Caffeine should be limited to 2 cups/day.
All caffeine sources, coffee, tea & caffeinated beverages in excess of 2 cups
No alcoholic beverages
FRESH/FROZEN FOODS: Turkey, chicken, fish, beef, lamb, veal, pork, tuna Aged, canned, cured processed meats, canned or aged ham, pickled herring, chicken liver, hot dogs, fermented sausage, bologna, salami, pepperoni, peanut and peanut butter, any meat prepared with meat tenderizer, soy sauce or yeast extracts
DAIRY: Milk, cheese - American, cottage
Cream cheese and ricotta cheese
Yogurt - limit to 1/2 cup.
Buttermilk, sour cream, chocolate milk
Cheese - bleu, brick, brae, Cheddar, Swiss, Gouda, Rockerford, Mozzarella, Parmesan Provolone, Romano, etc.
BREADS/CEREALS: White, whole wheat, rye, and French, English muffin, melba toast, crackers, rye-krisp bagel, all hot & dry cereals -Cream of Wheat, Oatmeal, Corn Flakes, Puffy Wheat, Rice, All Bran, etc. Hot, fresh, homemade yeast breads, crackers w/cheese, any containing chocolate or nuts
VEGETABLES: Asparagus, string beans, beets, carrots, spinach, pumpkin, tomato, squash, corn, zucchini, broccoli, green lettuce, etc. Snow peas, lima beans lentils, fava beans, navy beans, pinto beans, pea pods, sauerkraut, garbanzo beans, onions, olives and pickles
FRUITS: Prune, apple, cherries, apricots, peach, pear, limit intake to 1/2 orange, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon and lime Bananas (1/2 per day), raisins, papaya, passion fruit, red plums, nuts and seeds, peanut butter, sunflower, sesame & pumpkin seeds
SOUPS: Creams soups made from foods allowed and homemade broth Canned soups including soup bases
DESSERTS: Sorbate, cream cakes, cookies and puddings made without chocolate Chocolate type deserts, cookies and cakes
SWEETS: Sugars, jelly, jam, honey, hard candy Chocolate candy, chocolate syrup, Carob
MISC.: Salt in moderation, lemon juice, cooking oils, whipped cream, white vinegar, salad dressings in small amounts Pizza, cheese sauce, soy sauce, MSG, yeast, meat tenderizers, mixed dishes like mac & cheese, beef stroganoff, frozen TV dinners, nuts & seeds which are listed above. Avoid any pickled, preserved or marinated foods
